Chavalit Frederick Tsao

Fred Tsao has been the Chairman of IMC Pan Asian Alliance Group since 1995. He joined his family business and started his maritime career at age 20. Under his stewardship, IMC has evolved from a traditional shipping business to one focused on integrated industrial supply chains and encompasses lifestyle/real estate, investments and community development, with diverse business interests in more than 17 countries.

At the helm of a fourth generation family business, Mr. Tsao has long pondered on the role business plays in society and the significance of its existence. In his view, if we see economics as the actions to meet desires, then economics and consequently business (as main protagonist of commercial economics) is an integral part of society. Mr. Tsao concluded that the role of business in society is to "serve human wellbeing and create wealth at the same time."

However, Mr. Tsao sees a systemic misalignment between business and societal needs. Harmony demand for a new worldview where there is common purpose for collaboration. He firmly believes that leadership need to change significantly in search of the same. The new worldview should be founded on fundamentals of a meeting between esoteric wisdom and modern science. Tradition and cultural values need to be carefully integrated with social developments where new science of consciousness is meeting the esoteric values in pursuit of sustainability and harmony.

With these guiding principles, Mr. Tsao founded The East West Cultural Development Centre in 1995, a non-profit organization aimed at building more harmonious relationships in a rapidly globalized world. The Centre aims to provide an integrated platform for dialogue, research, design and prototyping models towards creation and building of harmonious societies through learning

Mr. Tsao also recognizes the importance of family businesses in the global economy and is a strong advocate of more research in areas such as succession planning, business transformation, social engagement and leadership cultivation to allow family businesses to learn more from each other.

Mr. Tsao graduated from the University of Michigan with a Master of Science in Engineering (Industrial and Operations Engineering) and a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering).

David Cooperrider

David L. Cooperrider is the Fairmount Santrol – David L. Cooperrider Professor in Appreciative Inquiry at the Weatherhead School of Management, Case Western Reserve University. Professor Cooperrider is past Chair of the National Academy of Management's OD Division and has lectured and taught at Harvard, Stanford, University of Chicago, Katholieke University in Belgium, MIT, University of Michigan, Cambridge and others. David is founder and chair of the Fowler Center for Business as an Agent of World Benefit.

Dr. Cooperrider has served as advisor to a wide variety of organizations including the Boeing Corporation, Fairmount Santrol, Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, McKinsey, Parker, Sherwin Williams, Wal-Mart as well as American Red Cross, American Hospital Association, Cleveland Clinic, and World Vision. Most of the projects are inspired by the Appreciative Inquiry (AI) methodology for which Professor Cooperrider is best known. His founding theoretical work in this area is creating a positive revolution in the leadership of change; it is helping institutions all over the world discover the power of the strength-based approaches to multi-stakeholder innovation and sustainable design.

Dr. Cooperrider's work is especially unique because of its ability to enable positive change, innovation, and sustainable design in systems of large and complex scale. He often serves as meeting speaker and leader of large group, interactive conference events. His dynamic ideas on Appreciative Inquiry and sustainable design have been published in journals such as Administrative Science Quarterly, Organization and Environment, Human Relations, Journal of Applied Behavioral Science, Management Inquiry, The OD Practitioner, and in research series such as Advances in Strategic Management. More popularly, Dr. Cooperrider's work has been covered by The New York Times; Forbes; NPR; Science, Fast Company, Fortune, Christian Science Monitor, Washington Post, Biz Ed and others. He has been recipient of Best Paper of the Year Awards at the Academy of Management and was named top researcher of the year 2005 at Case Western Reserve University. In 2016, he was named a Distinguished Professor of Case Western Reserve University.

David has published 15 books and authored over 50 articles. Cooperrider's volumes include Handbook of Transformative Cooperation (with Sandy Piderit and Ron Fry) a series of books on Appreciative Inquiry; The Organization Dimensions of Global Change (with Jane Dutton); Organizational Courage and Executive Wisdom (with Suresh Srivastva). David is editor of the research series Advances in Appreciative Inquiry (with Michel Avital) published by Elsevier Science, which is currently going to press with its third volume.

Charles D. Fowler

Charles D. Fowler is a Trustee of Case Western Reserve University and served as Chairman of the Board, June 2012 - June 2016. In 2013, Fowler retired as CEO of Chesterland, Ohio-based Fairmount Santrol, Ltd. and is now the Director and Chair of the Executive Committee.

A 1990 graduate of the Weatherhead School of Management's Executive Master of Business Administration degree program, Fowler became the university's 38th current trustee.

"Chuck is keenly aware of how higher education and the regional economy can be powerful partners in the global marketplace and the essential role that Case Western Reserve has and will continue to play in that future" said Barbara R. Snyder, president of Case Western Reserve.

A native of Danville, Illinois, Fowler has held leadership positions in the mineral production industry for four decades. He is past president of both Wedron Silica Company and Martin Marietta Corporation's Industrial Sand Division. He has served on the boards of the Alzheimer's Association, Center and Geauga Park Foundation, Geauga YMCA and currently serves on the boards of the DDC Clinic and Flying Horse Farms.

Fowler joined Fairmount Santrol Inc in 1986. The third-largest producer of industrial sand in the United States, Fairmount Santrol has won numerous regional and national awards for its environmentally friendly policies, including the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Business Civic Leadership Center 2006 Corporate Stewardship Award and the Ford Motor Co. 2005 World Excellence Award for Corporate Social Responsibility.

In 2007, Fairmount Santrol, which has supported the Weatherhead School of Management for more than 20 years, endowed the Fairmount Santrol Chair in Social Entrepreneurship at the school. The inaugural appointment of the chair was made to David Cooperrider, director of the Center for Business as an Agent of World Benefit and a founding expert of Appreciative Inquiry.

J. Lyell Clarke III

Lyell Clarke is the President and CEO of Clarke and all affiliated companies. He has spent more than 25 years in the entomology field. He earned his Bachelors of Science in Entomology from the University of Kentucky, and went on to receive his PhD in Entomology from Iowa State University. He began his career with Clarke in 1986 as a Control Consultant. After gaining a solid grounding in the business, he became Vice President for the company. In 1996, upon his father's retirement, he stepped into the role of President/CEO.

In 2008, Mr. Clarke led the company in a re-visioning of the company based on a platform of sustainability. His personal passion for what sustainability can mean propelled Clarke to redefining itself as a company with greater purpose. Significant goals were set and achieved, enabling three sustainability reports to be produced to Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) criteria and review. His vision is creating a new perspective on the role and change that a small to medium size company can make in society.

Mr. Clarke serves on two advisory boards: The Fowler Center for Business as an Agent of World Benefit at the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University, and privately held Weigel's Farm Stores, Inc. based in Powell, TN.

Michele Hunt

Michele Hunt, of DreamMakers, is internationally known for her work as a change catalyst and “thinking partner” to leaders of organizations and communities on leadership development, organizational transformation, and organizational effectiveness. She works with leaders and their teams to help transform their organizations to higher levels of participation, teamwork and performance. Her work is rooted in the principles of shared vision, values, alignment and continuous learning.

Ms. Hunt launched her firm in 1995. Her customers have included leadership teams of IBM, Motorola, Swiss Reinsurance Company, Popular, Inc. EVERTEC, Banco Popular of North America, Bright China Management Institute, Banco Do Brazil, BHP of Australia, The US Veterans Administration, Food and Drug Administration, National Park Service, The leadership team of the Chicago Public Schools, Junior Achievement of New York City, World Vision International, The Episcopal Divinity School at Harvard, and the Aruba Quality Foundation - Community Vision Project.

Ms. Hunt is also a keynote speaker at conferences around the world for businesses, not for profit organizations and communities. Her presentations are founded on her belief that people have the capacity to create far better futures than we have dared to dream. She comes to these beliefs through her personal and professional experiences and through her research on others who have dreamed big and turned their dreams into reality. She published these stories in her book, DreamMakers: Putting Vision & Values to Work.

In 1993 she was appointed by President Clinton to serve as the Executive Director of the Federal Quality Institute. The institute's mission was to help seed the reinvention of government agencies as a part President Clintons initiative The National Performance Review: Creating a Government That Works Better and Cost Less, lead by Vice President Al Gore. She brought progressive thought leaders and organizations to work alongside the Cabinet Deputy Secretaries in a public-private partnership on this initiative including: Peter Drucker, John Gardner, Max De Pree, Frances Hesselbein, Peter Senge, GE, Ford, and Herman Miller.

Prior to this appointment, Ms. Hunt spent 13 years with Herman Miller, Inc., a Fortune 500 global office furniture company. She served on the executive leadership team as Senior Vice President for People, reporting to Max De Pree, CEO and Chairman. In this capacity she led the company's organizational transformation. She was responsible for global Leadership Development, Human Resources, Quality Management, Corporate Communications, and Change Management.

She began her career with the Michigan Department of Corrections as one of the first two female probation officers to supervise adult male felons on probation in Detroit, Michigan. She served as Executive Director of Michigan's only halfway House for female felons, and later became Michigan's first female Deputy Warden, leading programs for rehabilitation in a male prison.

Ms. Hunt is the author of DreamMakers: Putting Vision & Values To Work. She is also the conceptual director of the documentary DreamMakers, a film that features compelling stories of people who made their hopes and dreams come true, against tremendous obstacles. She also contributed chapters to The Fifth Discipline, By Peter Senge; Leading People, by Robert Rosen and The Diversity Action Book, by Janet Crenshaw Smith.

Ms. Hunt earned her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in sociology from Eastern Michigan University and the University of Detroit, respectively.

John North

John North is a next generation integrational entrepreneur operating across the boundaries of society, business and academia. Following an international strategy consulting career which included founding Accenture's sustainability practice in Ireland, his passion to make a difference in his home country brought him back to South Africa in 2009 where he combined local advisory work with an international role as Head of Projects of the Globally Responsible Leadership Initiative.

John is one of the lead contributors to the 50+20 vision "Management Education for the World" and recently directed the design and delivery of a 50+20 Innovation Cohort for Deans and Directors of Business Schools. He holds Information Science and MBA degrees from the University of Pretoria, where he founded two online businesses during his undergraduate studies, and where he now holds an advisory board position.

Nadya Zhexembayeva

Nadya Zhexembayeva is the Coca-Cola Chair of Sustainable Development at IEDC- Bled School of Management, Slovenia, where she teaches courses in leadership, organizational behavior, design thinking, and sustainability.

Currently, Dr. Zhexembayeva's research, teaching, and consulting centers around leadership, organizational design, change management, whole-system approaches to managing multi-stakeholder issues, and sustainability as business strategy. She authored a number of articles and book chapters, and serves as a regular columnist in business periodicals, such as GreenBiz.com. Dr. Zhexembayeva also belongs to the Positive Organizational Scholarship movement, most noticeably with her work on Appreciative Inquiry, a world-renown change management and strategic planning methodology that fosters multi-stakeholder strategy design.

In 2007, Dr. Zhexembayeva joined US-based Sustainable Value Partners, one of the oldest sustainability consultancies in the world. In 2008, she was elected Vice-President of the United Nations Global Compact Slovenia, an association of businesses dedicated to sustainable value creation and corporate citizenship, where she consults companies in Central and Eastern Europe on a range of sustainability and stakeholder issues. She also serves as Vice-President of Challenge:Future, a global student think tank and innovation competition.

Under Dr. Zhexembayeva's leadership, in 2009 IEDC-Bled School of Management was named as one of the 100 Top Business Schools in the World, according to the world renown Aspen Institute's ranking of how well schools are preparing their students for the environmental, social and ethical complexities of modern-day business.

Dr. Zhexembayeva earned her Doctorate Degree in Organizational Behavior at the Weatherhead School of Management, Case Western Reserve University, where she also served as an Associate Director at the Center for Business as an Agent of World Benefit, now Fowler Center for Business as an Agent of World Benefit, until 2008. She received Bachelor of Arts in Management and Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Hartwick College. She started her career in the insurance industry, and then led the Association of Young Leaders in Kazakhstan. Her most recent book is Embedded Sustainability: The Next Big Competitive Advantage, co-authored with Chris Laszlo and to be published by Stanford University Press and Greenleaf Publishing.

Jacqueline Cambata

Born in Bombay, India, Jacqueline Cambata grew up in five countries. Among the international traditions to which she was exposed, the visual storytelling of 16th century Indian Mughal art made a deep and lingering impression. She established Jacqueline Cambata Designs LLC to develop a line of porcelain tableware inspired by the sumptuous style of the Mughal Empire, which at its height stretched from Bangladesh to Kashmir.

In 2008, Jacqueline Cambata Designs launched two collections, Shangri-La and Elephant Shantih, manufactured in Limoges, France, where craftsmen have been making porcelain for kings and queens for centuries. Known for its translucent delicacy, Limoges porcelain epitomizes elegance at the table.

Having grown up in countries where many families lacked the basic necessities of life, Ms. Cambata passionately believes that business can help eliminate global poverty. Microfinance—small uncollateralized loans to village women—is a proven, low-cost way to raise the standard of living in poor regions of the world. A portion of profits from the sale of Jacqueline Cambata Designs porcelain therefore goes to microfinance and its quest for human dignity. Ms. Cambata's commitment to social responsibility includes serving on the boards of several international organizations and non-governmental organizations, in addition to supporting life-affirming causes. As a businesswoman, designer and citizen of the world, Ms. Cambata combines her interests to promote the interconnectedness of humanity.

Chris Laszlo

As one of the originators of the concept of sustainable value, Chris Laszlo, PhD, reframes sustainability as a business opportunity, turning environmental and social risks into drivers of innovation, greater employee engagement, and a new, inimitable source of competitive advantage. He currently serves as Faculty Executive Director of the Fowler Center for Business as an Agent of World Benefit at the Weatherhead School of Management, Case Western Reserve University, where he is also the Char and Chuck Fowler Professor of Business as an Agent of World Benefit. Additionally, he is a Distinguished Visiting Scholar at Benedictine University and a Visiting Professor at the Drucker School of Management at Claremont Graduate University.

Dr. Laszlo is the author of five books, including Flourishing Enterprise: The New Spirit of Business (2014), Embedded Sustainability: The Next Big Competitive Advantage (2011), and Sustainable Value: How the World's Leading Companies are Doing Well by Doing Good (2008), all from Stanford University Press. An earlier book, The Sustainable Company (2003, paperback 2005), was published by Island Press. He has numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals and is the general editor of The Business of Sustainability, the second volume of the Encyclopedia of Sustainability (2010). Professionally, Laszlo was elected a Fellow of the International Academy of Management. His book Flourishing Enterprise was chosen as one of the top sustainability books by Sustainable Brands. In 2012 he was selected by his peers to be a "Top 100 Thought Leaders in Trustworthy Business Behavior" by Trust Across America™.

As a co-founder and managing partner of Sustainable Value Partners LLC, he provides advisory services to senior leaders in some of the world's largest companies. Laszlo has led hundreds of seminars and spoken widely on sustainability for strategic advantage both at companies and at leading business schools such as INSEAD, Darden School of Business, Cornell University, and Kenan-Flagler Business School.

In addition to his academic experience and consulting work, Laszlo spent nearly 10 years as an executive at Lafarge, a world leader in building materials; he held positions as head of strategy, general manager of a manufacturing subsidiary, and vice president of business development. Prior to that, he spent five years with Deloitte Touche, where he consulted on strategy to global industry leaders.

Laszlo received his doctorate with distinction in economics and management science from the University of Paris. He holds a MPhil in economics and a master's degree in international affairs from Columbia University, and a BA with honors from Swarthmore College.

Michael Fitzpatrick

Hailed by The New York Times as possessing “A sense of humor, virtuosity, and an ear for musical dialogue”, Michael Fitzpatrick has shared the stage with His Holiness the XIVth Dalai Lama for the past 17 years as part of the TUNING THE PLANET recording/film/performance platform he is spearheading. He is the recipient of The Prince Charles Award for Outstanding Musicianship conferred by H.R.H. The Prince of Wales.

Shinzen Young

Shinzen Young is an American mindfulness teacher and neuroscience research consultant.

His systematic approach to categorizing, adapting and teaching meditation, known as Unified Mindfulness, has resulted in collaborations with Harvard Medical School, Carnegie-Mellon University and the University of Vermont in the bourgeoning field of contemplative neuroscience.

Shinzen’s interest in Asia began at the age of 14 when he decided to attend Japanese ethnic school in his native city of Los Angeles. After majoring in Asian languages at UCLA, he entered a PhD program in Buddhist Studies at the University of Wisconsin. As a part of his thesis research, he lived as a Shingon (Japanese Vajrayana) monk for three years at Mount Koya, Japan. It was then that he received the name Shinzen (真善).

Also during that time, he became friends with Father William Johnston (author of Christian Zen). Fr. Johnston helped broaden Shinzen’s interests to include comparative world mysticism and the scientific study of meditative states.

Upon returning to the United States, his academic interests shifted to the dialogue between Eastern meditation and Western science. Shinzen is known for his interactive, algorithmic approach to mindfulness, and often uses mathematical metaphors to illustrate meditative phenomena.

He is the author of The Science of Enlightenment, Natural Pain Relief and numerous audio offerings.

Shinzen leads residential retreats throughout North America. In 2006, he created the Home Practice Program. These phone-based mini-retreats are designed to make deep meditation practice accessible to anyone in the world regardless of their location, health situation, and time or financial constraints.

Frank Foti

For nearly two decades, Frank Foti has led Vigor's transformation from a single, struggling shipyard to a thriving, increasingly diversified industrial company with 2,500 employees, 12 locations and more than $650 million in annual revenue.

Frank often describes his motivation in three words: "Industrial Jobs Matter." He is committed to improving long-term, family-wage job opportunities -- and the benefit those jobs bring to our workers' families and communities -- by strategically expanding and diversifying the company. Barbara Fredrickson

Among the most highly cited scholars in psychology, Barbara Fredrickson is most known for her "broaden-and-build theory of positive emotions," foundational within Positive Psychology for providing a blueprint for how pleasant emotional states, as fleeting as they are, contribute to resilience, wellbeing, and health. She is Director of the Positive Emotions and Psychophysiology Laboratory (PEP Lab) at UNC-Chapel Hill, Founding Co-Chair of the Association of Positive Emotion Laboratories (APEL), and current President of the International Positive Psychology Association (IPPA).

Dr. Fredrickson has published more than 130 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters and her general audience books, Positivity (2009, www.PositivityRatio.com) and Love 2.0 (2013, www.PositivityResonance.com) have been translated for more than 30 foreign markets. Dr. Fredrickson's research is funded by the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NCI, NIA, NCCIM, NIMH, NINR) and has been recognized with numerous honors, including the inaugural Templeton Prize in Positive Psychology from the American Psychological Association, the Career Trajectory Award from the Society of Experimental Social Psychology, and the inaugural Christopher Peterson Gold Medal from the International Positive Psychology Association.

In 2014, she was identified as the 13th most influential psychologist alive today contributing to counseling psychology. In 2015, through a partnership between UNC-Chapel Hill and Coursera, Dr. Fredrickson began teaching a free, on-line course on Positive Psychology that has attracted more than 140,000 learners worldwide. Through this and other means, her work influences scholars and practitioners worldwide, within education, business, healthcare, the military, and beyond.

Dr. Fredrickson was born and raised in Minnesota and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota (1986). She received her Ph.D. in psychology from Stanford University (1990), with a minor in organizational behavior, and post-doctoral training in psychophysiology from the University of California at Berkeley (1990-1992). Prior to joining the faculty at UNC-Chapel Hill, she has held faculty positions at Duke University and the University of Michigan.

Robert E. Widing II

A native of southwestern Pennsylvania, Rob Widing is equally a citizen of the world. Before becoming dean of Weatherhead, Widing served as dean, managing director, and professor of marketing at the Macquarie Graduate School of Management in Sydney, Australia. He previously held the Coles Myer Chair of Retailing and Marketing and served as associate dean of graduate studies at the University of Melbourne. His more than 20-year residency in Australia, where he holds dual citizenship, was punctuated by time spent as provost and professor of marketing at the Thunderbird School of Global Management, an honorary appointment at Thammasat University in Bangkok, and a conjoint professorship with Universitas21 in Singapore.

Widing obtained his bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees from the Ohio State University and served as assistant professor of marketing at Weatherhead from 1988 to 1993. As a scholar, his many awards include Australia's highest marketing research honor, the Distinguished Marketing Researcher Award from the Australia-New Zealand Marketing Academy. Named a “Top-Ten” marketing researcher in Australasia and Asia by the Journal of Marketing Education, Widing has also garnered praise as a teacher, including a Businessweek designation as an "outstanding faculty member."

His administrative career has included such notable achievements as developing Macquarie's first interdisciplinary degree (in social entrepreneurship), launching three new degree programs at Thunderbird, and growing the number of full-time marketing faculty at the University of Melbourne from one to 10--as enrollment in marketing courses shot up.

Jenniffer Deckard

Jenniffer Deckard joined Fairmount Santrol (then Fairmount Minerals) in 1994 and was soon named chief financial officer, serving until 2011 when she was named president and subsequently chief executive officer in 2013. In October 2014, Jenniffer and the company's leadership team led Fairmount Santrol to its initial public offering and the company is now traded on the New York Stock Exchange (FMSA). Jenniffer has been recognized by Crain's Cleveland Business in its annual "Forty under 40" list, and she was named the 2008 "CFO of the Year" for large privately held businesses in Greater Cleveland. She currently serves on the Weatherhead School of Management's Visiting Committee for Case Western Reserve University, and actively serves on the advisory boards of the Cleveland Foundation. Jenny Darroch

Jenny Darroch is the Dean of the Drucker School. Dean Darroch has served as a member of the Drucker School faculty since 2004

Dean Darroch has a deep understanding of Drucker’s work and was for example, a co-editor of a Special Issue of the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, which was produced as a tribute to Peter Drucker. As MBA Academic Director, Dean Darroch led a review of the MBA curriculum and this resulted in a renewed orientation toward the Practice of Management, and Management as a Liberal Art.

A regular contributor to The Huffington Post, Professor Darroch’s research and teaching interests focus on the questions and challenges that arise at the intersection between marketing and innovation. She specializes in marketing, knowledge management and innovation, and her books include Marketing Through Turbulent Times and Why Marketing to Women Doesn’t Work.

Her recent research work focuses on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) presented by the United Nations and, in particular, how the SDGs align with Peter Drucker’s teachings on the beneficial impact of organizational success on society at large.

Dean Darroch also holds the distinction of serving as the first female Dean of the Drucker School of Management.

Jacqueline Cambata

Born in Bombay, India, Jacqueline Cambata grew up in five countries. Among the international traditions to which she was exposed, the visual storytelling of 16th century Indian Mughal art made a deep and lingering impression. She established Jacqueline Cambata Designs LLC to develop a line of porcelain tableware inspired by the sumptuous style of the Mughal Empire, which at its height stretched from Bangladesh to Kashmir.

In 2008, Jacqueline Cambata Designs launched two collections, Shangri-La and Elephant Shantih, manufactured in Limoges, France, where craftsmen have been making porcelain for kings and queens for centuries. Known for its translucent delicacy, Limoges porcelain epitomizes elegance at the table.

Having grown up in countries where many families lacked the basic necessities of life, Ms. Cambata passionately believes that business can help eliminate global poverty. Microfinance—small uncollateralized loans to village women—is a proven, low-cost way to raise the standard of living in poor regions of the world. A portion of profits from the sale of Jacqueline Cambata Designs porcelain therefore goes to microfinance and its quest for human dignity. Ms. Cambata's commitment to social responsibility includes serving on the boards of several international organizations and non-governmental organizations, in addition to supporting life-affirming causes. Julie Reiter

Julie Reiter is Vice President of Human Resources and Sustainable Development for Clarke, a global environmental products and services company based in St. Charles, Illinois, focused on pioneering, developing and delivering environmental mosquito control and aquatic services.

Julie has more than 30 years of experience in the Human Resources field working primarily in mid-sized, family owned businesses. In her seventeen years with Clarke she has successfully established a broadly functioning Human Resources department, implemented company policies and procedures, introduced new and innovative compensation and benefit programs and guided Clarke’s organizational development.

In 2012, Julie’s role with Clarke expanded to include Sustainable Development, recognizing her work as architect and leader of “Project Greater Purpose” – Clarke’s strategic initiative that established the organizational structure and ongoing processes to establish Sustainability as a lens through which all decisions are made and to guide the evolution of the organization to a more flourishing enterprise.

Julie is a graduate of Lake Erie College in Ohio where she earned her Bachelors of Science in Management. Her well-rounded experience and knowledge was recognized by her peers in 2007 when she was honored as the Human Resources Professional of the Year by the Management Association of Illinois. When she isn’t working, Julie can usually be found cycling on the open road or hiking in the woods with her partner and their pack of canine companions.

Thomasina Williams

Thomasina H. Williams is a Vice President in the Wells Fargo Private Bank, where she plays a leadership role in developing a new service offering for clients of substantial wealth.

Prior to joining Wells Fargo, Ms. Williams was a family business consultant with her own firm and with a leading internationally renowned consulting firm that helps families manage the generational transition of wealth. She has published articles, presented to international audiences and conducted trainings addressing issues of family dynamics and family wealth planning.

She worked for more than 20 years as a lawyer, during which time she became a partner in one of Florida’s leading full-service law firms in a record three years, and then co-founded the first Black-owned law firm in Miami with a primarily corporate clientele. Ms. Williams was recognized as one of the Top 150 Lawyers in South Florida, and the Miami-Dade County Commission named a day in her honor to acknowledge her pro bono public interest legal work. Thereafter, Ms. Williams relocated to New York, where she served for six years as a program officer at one of the nation’s largest foundations and made more than $42 million dollars in grant investments to strengthen non-profits and the non-profit sector.

Ms. Williams earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Black Studies from Mount Holyoke College, and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Michigan Law School. She resides in Orlando, FL.

Jennifer Simpson

Jennifer Simpson is the managing director of the Finance Leaders Fellowship. She has worked in the finance field most of her career, including private equity and debt investing at The Gladstone Companies, leadership roles in leveraged lending and credit at National City Bank and debt arrangement at Morgenthaler Partners. Most recently she was the EVP of Finance and Operations at the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation. Jennifer began her career as a platoon leader in the U.S. Army's Medical Service Corp and earned her undergraduate degree in Economics from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, financing it with a four-year Army ROTC scholarship. Her MBA is from Case Western Reserve University.

Daniel M. Böhi

He spent the last 25 years in different managerial roles in the FMCG and private equity industries, using “purpose and stakeholder principles” to create sustainable value and innovation.

Sandra Waddock

Sandra Waddock is Galligan Chair of Strategy, Carroll School Scholar of Corporate Responsibility, and Professor of Management at Boston College's Carroll School of Management. She has published about 140 papers and thirteen books. Recipient of numerous awards, Waddock received the 2016 Lifetime Achievement Award from Humboldt University in Berlin for contributions in corporation sustainability and responsibility, the 2015 award for Leadership in Humanistic Management, and the 2014 Lifetime Achievement Award in Collaboration Research (CSSI Symposium and Partnership Resource Center, Erasmus U.), among others. Current research interests are large systems change, the role of memes in change processes, developing a new narrative for business in society, stewardship of the future, corporate sustainability and responsibility, the problem of growth, wisdom, management education, and intellectual shamans. She has published 13 books, including Healing the World (2017), Intellectual Shamans (Cambridge, 2015), (Teaching) Managing Mindfully (with Lawrence Lad and Judith Clair) (2017), and Building the Responsible Enterprise with Andreas Rasche (2012). Other books include SEE Change: Making the Transition to a Sustainable Enterprise Economy with Malcolm McIntosh (2011), and The Difference Makers (2008, Social Issues in Management Division Best Book Award, 2011).

Jeff Hoffman

Jeff is a successful entrepreneur, keynote speaker, proven CEO, and featured business expert. Widely known for co-founding Priceline.com, Jeff has successfully launched multiple startups and currently services on the boards of companies around the world. He supports the White House, State Department, and UN in economic growth initiatives and entrepreneurship programs. Jeff received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the national CEO council for his contributions to the field of entrepreneurship, among many other awards.

Jonas Haertle

Since 2010, Jonas Haertle is Head of the Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME), the world’s largest responsible management education initiative by the UN Global Compact and leading business school associations. He is responsible for driving the mission of PRME and to inspire responsible management education, research and thought leadership globally. He provides global leadership in bringing together good practice in implementing the principles of PRME and the UN Global Compact.

From 2007-2010, he was responsible for the UN Global Compact’s Local Networks in Latin America, Africa and the Middle East. In 2009-2010, he co-led the organization of the Global Compact Leaders Summit.

Prior to joining the United Nations, Mr. Haertle worked as a research analyst for the German public broadcasting service Norddeutscher Rundfunk. Mr. Haertle has written and contributed to a number of publications and academic articles on corporate sustainability and responsible management education and he serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of Corporate Citizenship and the Sustainability Accounting, Management and Policy Journal respectively.

He holds a master's degree in European Studies of Hamburg University in Germany. As a Fulbright scholar, he also attained a MSc degree in Global Affairs from Rutgers University in the USA. Currently, Mr. Haertle is pursuing in part-time a Doctor in Business Administration program at Nottingham Trent University Business School, UK.

Lawrence Bloom

Lawrence Bloom is currently Secretary General of the Be Earth Foundation, a UN Inter Governmental Organisation which advises, assists and enables in the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals on behalf those Countries with which it has Treaties.

He is a member of the Board of Dakia Global, a major infrastructure organization combining creative financial and technical solutions enabling countries, corporations and sovereign wealth funds to achieve their sustainable development goals and targets. These successes are achieved through Public Private and Social Partnerships tied into profound expertise and strong leadership. He believes that this collaboration is the key to our collective future. He also Chairs the Dakia Institute, which is the Impact Resilience - Social, Environmental, Governance & Gender - global advisory mechanism for the Dakia Group, including oversight of the Dakia Donor Advised Fund, Dakia Global and Dakia Impact Infrastructure Funds (DIIF) and all project work therein.

He was recently voted by SALT magazine as among the top 25 most Conscious Global Leaders globally, and some months ago received an award at the UN from the Humanitarian Innovation Forum for Conscious Leadership.

He is a Vice Chair of the Climate Prosperity Alliance, a Senior Fellow and member of the Board of Directors of Global Urban Development, Co-Chair of the GUD program committee on Generating Sustainable Economic Development, and Vice Chairman of Climate Prosperity Strategies LLC. All of these initiatives are designed to demonstrate the significant economic benefits from creating a sustainable society.

Lawrence was appointed the first Chairman of the World Economic Forum at Davos, Global Agenda Council on Urban Management and he is a current alumnas of all Agenda Councils. He is former Chairman of the UN Environmental Programme, Green Economy Initiative, Green Cities, Buildings and Transport Council. Lawrence also served as an active a member of the Corporate Responsibility Advisory Group of the ICEAW.

His passion is to support what is breaking through via what is breaking down in the current system. He considers this action will enable the emergence of a society whose understanding around the interconnectedness of all things will harmonise conscious economics, social wellbeing and environmental responsibility.

Ronald Fry

As a co-creator of the Appreciative Inquiry (AI) theory and method, Ronald Fry, PhD, works with groups, organizations and institutions around the world to increase their cooperative capacity in order to engage the whole system in strategic thinking, planning and change. His research interests focus on the factors and dynamics that foster system-wide, positive change, and he continues to develop insights on large group dynamics, appreciative leadership, multi-stakeholder strategic planning, and business as an agent for world benefit.

Fry has developed and conducted a Certificate Program in Appreciative Leadership and Organizational Capacity Building for over 150 leaders of voluntary social change organizations from more than 30 countries. With David Cooperrider, he co-directs the Weatherhead School of Management Certificate Program in Appreciative Inquiry in Positive Business and Society Change. He is an advisory board member and chief editor of the Fowler Center for Business as Agent of Work Benefit’s AIM2Flourish global inquiry into business innovations for business and society benefit. He has facilitated AI applications in a variety of systems including World Vision, Lubrizol, Roadway Express, US Navy, Genesis Health System, and Mid-Ohio Foodbank.

Fry has served as a visiting faculty to Canterbury University in Christchurch, New Zealand, Katholieke University in Leuven, Belgium and to the Administrative Staff College of India. He has been honored with the Case Western Reserve University Award for Outstanding Teacher in the Professional Schools. In 2004, he was awarded the Weatherhead School’s Lifetime Service Award. He is the chair and faculty director of the Master of Positive Organization Development and Change (MPOD)-India Program. He also facilitates the annual summits for Sustainable Cleveland 2019.

Tom Robinson

Tom Robinson serves as president and chief executive officer (CEO) of AACSB International, the primary global accreditor and membership organization of business schools worldwide. As president and CEO, Robinson works alongside the organization’s board and global network of staff, members, and volunteers to foster engagement, accelerate innovation, and amplify impact in business education.

Prior to joining AACSB, Robinson spent seven years at CFA Institute, most recently as managing director of the Americas and managing director of education globally, providing vision and leadership for a 100+ member global team—which produced and delivered educational content and programs for candidates, members, other investment professionals, and universities. Robinson also served as co-executive sponsor of CFA Institute’s Future of Finance Initiative.

Prior to joining CFA Institute, Robinson spent 14 years at the University of Miami, serving as a tenured accounting faculty member and in several administrative roles including department chair, director of the Master of Professional Accounting program, and director of Personal Financial Planning programs. He taught graduate courses in financial statement analysis, personal financial planning, and valuation. Throughout his academic career, Robinson has won several teaching awards, has published regularly in academic and professional journals, and has authored or coauthored many books.

Prior to joining the University of Miami, Robinson practiced public accounting and financial planning for 10 years, primarily with Deloitte and Pritchett Dlusky & Saxe in Columbus, Ohio. Concurrently, during his professional and academic careers, he has also served as a consultant and investment advisor to individuals, law firms, accounting firms, professional associations, and governmental agencies in the areas of wealth management, financial statement analysis, and valuation.

Dan Leclair

Dan LeClair’s work is focused on strategy and innovation in business education and at AACSB International. He provides leadership and support for AACSB’s professional development, encompassing more than 100 conferences and seminars around the globe. LeClair also leads AACSB’s efforts to advocate for and build awareness about business education and accreditation. He was the principal architect of AACSB’s data and research services and spearheaded AACSB’s development as an industry thought leader. He is an internationally recognized expert, author, and presenter on business education. Prior to his position at AACSB, LeClair was an academic economist and administrator.

Alfredo Enrione

Professor Enrione is founder and chairman of the Center for Corporate Governance and Society at the ESE Business School. He also serves as director of the Senior Management Program. He has pioneered the research, teaching and diffusion of corporate governance in Latin America and created the oldest learning program for boards of directors, while collaborating in the creation of similar initiatives in the region. He is a visiting professor at Stanford University, IESE and several schools in Latin america. He also serves as chairman and board member for a number of corporations, family businesses, institutional investors, regulatory agencies and nonprofit organizations. Professor Enrione is also the founder and chapter chair of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO) in Chile.

Jonathan Halperin

He has more than 25 years of experience in nonprofit and commercial organizations such as SustainAbility, Ltd., Resources for the Future, and FYI Resources for a Changing World.

In collaboration with international executives, nonprofit leaders, public officials and creative media producers he designs and executes projects to drive systemic changes in thinking and behavior. Recent projects include research and design of communications on agricultural risk with The World Bank, creation of SNAPAlumni.org with Participant Media to dispel myths about hunger in America, and design of TeachFood! at Mundo Verde PCS which brings celebrity chefs to an inner city school in Washington, DC.

He serves as a trusted source for journalists, a regular public speaker, meeting facilitator, panel moderator, writer and diplomatically disruptive provocateur. He is a graduate of Duke University and lives with his two young children near Washington, DC.

Michael Pirson

Michael Pirson is a scholar of humanistic management, which holds that business and commerce ought to protect human dignity and promote societal well-being. He is currently a professor for Global Sustainability and Social Entrepreneurship at Fordham University, New York and a Research Fellow at Harvard University.

He is the co-founder of the Humanistic Management Network, a global organization bringing academics from various disciplines together with practitioners, policy makers and media representatives to accelerate the transition towards a life-conducive economic system. Professor Pirson is the also actively exploring the role of higher education in positive change making and social innovation, leading Fordham University’s efforts as ASHOKA Changemaker Campus.

Michael Pirson is Editor-in-Chief of the newly established "Humanistic Management Journal" published by Springer/Nature. He established the social entrepreneurship track for the Oikos-Ashoka Global Case Writing Competition and serves on the board of five social enterprises. A native of Germany, Michael Pirson has worked and lived in Switzerland, France, China, Costa Rica and the United States. Before beginning his academic career, he worked for an international consulting group for several years and then started his own private consultancy. He has worked for and with businesses, nonprofits, embassies, political campaigns, and local and national governments. He is a Full Member of the Club of Rome and a Distinguished Fellow at the Fowler Center, Case Western Reserve University. He has won numerous awards for his work, including from the Academy of Management.

Diana Bilimoria

An expert in how leadership development can transform individuals, groups, and organizations, Diana Bilimoria, PhD, is KeyBank Professor, chair and professor of organizational behavior. Bilimoria’s research focuses on gender and diversity in governance and leadership and organizational transformation. Her studies have helped corporate, educational and nonprofit organizations reinvent themselves and establish practices that attract and retain a high-performance, diverse workforce. Questions she studies include: How do individuals achieve their fullest potential as leaders and contributors in organizations? What facilitates women and minority group members becoming full participants in organizations, top management teams and boardrooms? How can workplaces tap into all the capabilities of leadership and diversity?

She is a co-author of several books including WOMEN IN STEM CAREERS: INTERNATIONAL PERSPECTIVES ON INCREASING WORKFORCE PARTICIPATION, ADVANCEMENT AND LEADERSHIP; GENDER EQUITY IN SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING: ADVANCING CHANGE IN HIGHER EDUCATION; HANDBOOK ON WOMEN IN BUSINESS AND MANAGEMENT; and WOMEN ON CORPORATE BOARDS OF DIRECTORS: INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH AND PRACTICE.

Bilimoria was the 2011-12 chair of the Gender and Diversity in Organizations Division of the Academy of Management. She has published extensively in leading journals, has contributed to several edited volumes and has received multiple research grants. She has served as the editor of the JOURNAL OF MANAGEMENT EDUCATION and sits on the editorial boards of several journals in the business and management field.

Her teaching and executive education activities focus on executive leadership and gender and diversity and inclusion in organizations. She has served as an organizational consultant and management educator for private, public and nonprofit organizations and as an advisor and coach for executives, focusing on the areas of leadership development, gender and diversity in organizations, board effectiveness and institutional transformation.

In 2014, Bilimoria received the Weatherhead School of Management Teaching Excellence Award. Other awards include the Girl Scouts of Northeast Ohio’s Woman of Distinction Award, ATHENA award finalist from Cleveland, the Excellence in Higher Education Leadership Award from the ACE Ohio Women’s Network, the Flora Stone Mather Center for Women’s Spotlight Series Prize for Women’s Scholarship at Case Western Reserve University, and the Weatherhead Doctoral Teaching Excellence Award. She has been recognized internationally for her scholarship, leadership and service, including the 1999 Anbar Golden Page Award for her editorship of the JOURNAL OF MANAGEMENT EDUCATION and several Academy of Management Conference awards.

Sook-Yee Tai

Sook Yee, TAI has been with the IMC Pan Asia Alliance Group since 2007, heading up various functions and business groups. Since qualifying as a professional certified accountant, Sook Yee has spent more than 30 years in practice, consulting, corporate, governance and business leadership, including serving as director on Australian listed entities. In the IMC Group, she was the Group Managing Director of the Industrial Business Group, which employs more than 10,000 employees with offices across 16 countries. Prior to joining the IMC Group, Sook Yee spent more than 15 years in the heavy building materials industry holding, the last position being Country Director for CEMEX Malaysia.

Having served two family businesses and operated in multi-cultural large businesses, Sook Yee understands and appreciates the relational dynamics and the need to be inter-connected by being true, respectful, inclusive and engaging. She is now part of a larger team, under the flagship AITIA Institute, working to journey with family businesses and enterprises to support and transform its leadership and practices, so they can evolve and flourish.

Peter Senge

Peter Senge is a Senior Lecturer at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is also Founding Chair of the Society for Organizational Learning (SoL), a global community of corporations, researchers, and consultants committed “to increase our capacity to collectively realize our highest aspirations and productively resolve our differences” through the mutual development of people and institutions. The Journal of Business Strategy named him a “Strategist of the Century,” one of twenty-four men and women who have “had the greatest impact on the way we conduct business today” (September/October 1999). His special interest is on decentralizing the role of leadership in organizations so as to enhance the capacity of all people to work productively toward common goals. Senge's work places human values at the cornerstone of the workplace, proposing that vision, purpose, reflectiveness, and systems thinking are essential for organizations to realize their potentials.

Senge is the author of several books, including the widely acclaimed, The Fifth Discipline: The Art and Practice of the Learning Organization (1990). This book, which provides the knowledge for organizations to transform rigid hierarchies into more fluid and responsive systems, is widely credited with creating a revolution in the business world. Since its publication, more than a million copies have been sold, and in 1997, Harvard Business Review identified it as one of the seminal management books of the past 75 years. His most recent book, Presence: Human Purpose and the Field of the Future (SoL 2004), co-authored with C. Otto Scharmer, Joseph Jaworski and Betty Sue Flowers, documents the authors' development of a new theory about change and learning. Their journey of discovery articulates a new way of seeing the world and of understanding our part in creating it—as it is and as it might be.

Senge has lectured extensively throughout the world, translating the abstract ideas of systems theory into tools to create economic and organizational change. He has worked with leaders in business, education, healthcare and government. He lives with his wife and children in eastern Massachusetts.

Joe works closely with eminent philosopher, scientist and writer Ervin Laszlo and he is currently the Managing Director of the ‘Laszlo Institute of New Paradigm Research’ (L-INPR) in Tuscany, Italy.

Joe is the author of the best-selling book ‘100 Tips for Total Life Fulfillment’ with two more books about to be published in 2017 – one on his own spiritual journey called ‘The Path to Indra’ and another about the true story behind the Uganda-Tanzania war and downfall of Idi Amin in 1978-1980. He is currently working on a new book called ‘EarthPulse’ aimed at analyzing and solving the world’s most critical problems including climate change, pollution, poverty, corporate corruption, deforestation and human rights.

Joe has also recently (2016) taken on the role of ‘Global President’ of ‘Eternea’ the US based organization founded by Eben Alexander, the New York Number One bestselling Author of ‘Proof of Heaven’ and ‘Map of Heaven’ an organization focused on Consciousness Research and World Issues.

Award-winning investigative journalist Roberta Baskin recently set out on a surprising new career path. She joined the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University to promote Business as an Agent of World Benefit across the globe. During her distinguished broadcast journalism career, Roberta routinely made news targeting corporate misconduct.Roberta has won more than 75 journalism awards including prestigious Peabodys, duPont Columbia Awards, and multiple Emmy Awards.
